Okay, Ponyo sucked. I don't understand how everyone is saying the animation was beautiful or whatever, because it looks like it was made in like the eighties or nineties. The sotry and characters weren't very developed, the plot was choppy, like it seemed like the whole thing was 'omg ponyo and sosuke are so cute lolololol' and then conflict was supposed to be that Ponyo left the ocean with magical powers and the universe was off balance and homg what shall we do -_-. Except it lacked the energy or excitement necessary to develop any sort of story. And also, wtf it up with make five year old kids contemplate and make decisions about love? And it wasn't apparent for quite some time if Ponyo's dad was evil or good or what, because he like trapped her in a bubble and wouldn't her do what she wanted, and it didn't even give like the whole protective dad vibe either. I don't know, I went with ~albino-pie to see it on a whim because Miyazaki usually does pretty decent movies, but this was hugely disappointing. I don't know how it got so many good reviews, if the plot and characters had been developed better it would've been a little corny but waaaayyyy better.

And then after that we watched Inglorious Basterds because we had an evening to kill. That was a funny one, I can say I haven't seen a movie quite like that. There were just alot of lines + scene that were so funny, and so many shit your pants moments. It was funny in a terrible sort of way. I would recommend seeing this one
